Tux is the oldest cat at Tabby’s Place. He first came to us a decade ago, at the “youthful” age of thirteen. Although he’d survived a hoarding situation, Tux was excited for his new beginning and welcomed each day like the best day of his life.
At twenty-three, Tux is still full of affection and optimism. He’s acquired numerous medical conditions over the years, including heart and kidney disease, but he lives to love … and he loves everyone. He relishes his role as “Grandpa Tux,” comforting shy kittens and helping them to trust that life can be beautiful.
Meanwhile, teenage Ruchi is a huggable hero. While living outdoors, this gentle soul was attacked by dogs, leaving him with permanent injuries. But there was a silver lining for our silver senior. His trauma led to Tabby’s Place, where he has been adored ever since.
Ruchi is one of the most tenderhearted, empathetic cats we have ever met. When you pick him up, he hugs back, as if to say, “I love you, too!” Ruchi lives with diabetes as well as a rare condition called acromegaly, but he has everything he needs to thrive.
